BYU Affordability | About
The BYU Affordable Course Materials Working Group meets to discuss ways to collaborate and coordinate efforts to reduce course materials costs for students. Reducing course materials costs can improve the student learning experience while accelerating graduation and reducing post-graduation debt.
Reducing course materials costs is a very complex issue touching on many aspects of the campus community. These issues can have an impact on income, personnel and workflow. To this end, the Affordable Course Materials Working Group is responsible for clarifying roles and finding potential impacts of actions discussed to help students. For example, this can be by educating the campus community, encouraging price negotiation, supporting use of or conversion to Open Educational Resources, or using existing resources provided by the library or other campus departments/colleges.
